From the Test Kitchen
With many of the familiar and delicious adornments of meat-based tacos, the fresh flavor of fish tacos are a tribute to the sea. In fact, we think they might be the perfect meal. With so many recipes on our website, the Sitka Seafood Market Test Kitchen narrowed down our favorite seven fish tacos, just in time for summer. Each one is a perfectly delicious welcome to warmer weather.
CRISPY FISH TACOS WITH CREAMY JALAPEÑO-CILANTRO HOT SAUCE
This recipe was made for last-minute cravings. The crispy, chile-spiked coating on the fish seals in the flavor and pairs perfectly with the lime and cilantro sauce (which is good on everything!). You don’t even have to wait for the fish to thaw before frying!
SPICY FISH TACO-NACHOS WITH LIME CREMA
Though not exactly a taco, these crunchy nachos combine all the flavors and textures you’re craving come Taco Tuesday. Better yet, while tacos require individual assembly, nachos are the ideal sheet pan supper. We can’t imagine an easier or more gratifying meal, so queue up a movie and dig in.
TACO-SPICED COD TOSTADAS
A sort of open-faced taco, crunchy tostadas are an opportunity to go all out with your favorite toppings. We recommend plenty of crisp shredded lettuce, fresh tomato, thinly sliced radishes, scallions, cilantro, and queso fresco. Be sure to pile ‘em high!
SALMON SCRAMBLE BREAKFAST TACOS
When the taco cravings start early, these breakfast tacos are the ideal solution. They come together in only 15 minutes—the time it takes to brew a pot of coffee.
SAUTEÉD HALIBUT TACOS WITH BLACK BEAN-CORN SALSA
Lime-kissed halibut quickly sautéed in a hot pan is the perfect foundation for irresistible black bean, corn, and pepper salsa. If you really want to up-level your tacos, try charing your tortillas on the grill or over a gas flame for a smoky, toasty flavor.
MEXICAN GRILLED FISH TACO SALAD
As much as we’d like to eat tacos everyday, our bodies appreciate an occasional salad. With this recipe, you get the best of both worlds: crunchy, salty tortillas and a hearty bed of lettuce, avocado, corn, radishes, and peppers. All topped with plenty of creamy lime dressing of course.
SPICY FISH TACO BOWL WITH CILANTRO RICE AND LIME CREMA
This recipe adds all the tempting taco toppings to a dazzling rice bowl bursting with fresh flavor. If you haven’t tried seasoning your rice with fresh herbs and scallions (plus drizzling it with lime crema), this is your official invitation to start.
