Hot honey broiled salmon is a sweet-n-spicy combination that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. For heat, add more chile flakes to taste. Adapted from Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association.
Ingredients
1 fillet salmon
6 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, smashed
1-2 tablespoons chile flakes
1/4 cup honey
Directions
PREP
Pat salmon dry and place it on a foil-lined baking sheet. Season the fillet generously with salt. Set the broiler to high.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in garlic, chile flakes, and honey. Cook for 2 minutes until melted together and fragrant. Remove from heat and remove garlic pieces.
Drizzle half the sauce over salmon to evenly coat, reserving the rest for serving.
COOK SALMON
Place salmon in the oven on the middle-upper rack, about 6 inches from the heat source.
Broil the salmon until thickest part of the fillet gently flakes, about 6-8 minutes. Watch carefully so honey does not burn. Move oven rack lower if necessary.
Serve immediately, drizzled with remaining hot honey butter, lime wedges, and cilantro.
