When it's 99 degrees with 90% humidity, there is only one logical thing to do: Cook fish over an open flame! Loimulohi, pronounced low-e-mow-low-he, is a Finnish technique that translates to “blazed fish.” We are taking an ancient page from the Finns’ expansive understanding of fish cooking and making a tasty meal in our own backyard. We used a plank of wood, a few nails, a hammer, fire, and a perfect piece of fish. Now just throw all of that straight into the fire. No, not really, but you will quickly learn that controlling the fire and heat is the most challenging but also the most fun part of Loimulohi, second only to biting into perfectly smoked and slow-cooked wild salmon!
