MORE PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Description

  • Our yellowfin tuna is of the highest-quality available — the kind usually reserved for high-end restaurants — and is flash frozen at the peak of freshness to maintain its delicious taste and luscious texture. The portions are “natural,” which means they’re not treated with carbon monoxide to artificially preserve their bright color (a practice that has been banned in the EU). As a result, the color may range from red, to pale pink, to grayish pink, all of which are normal and healthy.

Cooking Tips

  • It has a mild taste and tender texture when raw, and a more pronounced flavor and firm flake once cooked. Yellowfin is perfect for sashimi, crudo, or poke, or coat the tuna steaks with crushed peppercorns and sear them to perfection, leaving a rare center.

Sourcing & Traceability

  • Caught with longline gear by small-boat fishermen aboard the F/V Sea Eagle in the highly-regulated fishery on the northeastern seaboard of the United States. This fishery is managed by either having an observer onboard vessels or electronically monitoring the catch to ensure every fish is accounted for in the data.

Packaging & Shipping

  • You'll have the opportunity to select your delivery week at checkout. Otherwise, orders placed by 11:59pm CT on Saturdays will be delivered the following week. All orders are packed in environmentally responsible insulation, recyclable packaging, and on dry ice.

So far, all of my orders have arrived perfectly and still frozen, timely, tastey and healthy beyond words. My weekly dinners now include at least 2-3 servings of these great fish.

I have never had any problems with Sitka fish. Only once in 4 years has a shipment been late and once lost/damaged . Sita sent another shipment with out any hassle for the lost/damaged one.

Founded by Fishermen, Driven by Integrity

At Sitka Seafood Market, our roots run deep in Alaska's waters. Marsh, a second-generation fisherman, started this company on the simple principle of respect for the ocean. With a commitment to sustainable fishing practices, we bring you seafood as nature intended — wild, fresh, and responsibly harvested. Marsh knows the value of working with the tides, understanding the rhythms of the sea, and passing on this knowledge to future generations.
