MORE PRODUCT DETAILS

Product Description

  • Wild Alaska Keta salmon are the second most abundant species of salmon in Southeast Alaska (behind pink salmon). Until about a decade ago, they were harvested for a single reason — Ikura, their prized roe. Since then, fishermen have begun to target them for a growing number of fresh and frozen markets both domestic and abroad. Portions are 5-7 oz, carefully frozen and vacuum-sealed with skin on and pin bones in.

Cooking Tips

  • Keta is very mild and leaner than other types of salmon, making it incredibly versatile. Try it battered and fried for a fish sandwich or simmered in a creamy chowder.

Sourcing & Traceability

  • Caught using gillnet gear in upper Lynn Canal in the waters of Chilkoot and Chilkat Inlets.

Packaging & Shipping

  • You'll have the opportunity to select your delivery week at checkout. Otherwise, orders placed by 11:59pm CT on Saturdays will be delivered the following week. All orders are packed in environmentally responsible insulation, recyclable packaging, and on dry ice.

Founded by Fishermen, Driven by Integrity

At Sitka Seafood Market, our roots run deep in Alaska's waters. Marsh, a second-generation fisherman, started this company on the simple principle of respect for the ocean. With a commitment to sustainable fishing practices, we bring you seafood as nature intended — wild, fresh, and responsibly harvested. Marsh knows the value of working with the tides, understanding the rhythms of the sea, and passing on this knowledge to future generations.
