Wild Alaska sockeye are famous for their striking red flesh and robust flavor, making any dish pop. Sockeye get their deep red color from filter feeding on krill for most of their lives. Since they filter feed and don’t bite fishing lures they are harvested sustainably using low-impact gillnets. Portions are 5-7 ounces, carefully frozen, and vacuum-sealed with skin on and pin bones in.

Sockeye is bright red with a robust salmon flavor that allows it to hold up well to all manner of spices, herbs, and sauces. Try it quick-seared with crispy skin and a tender center, or in raw dishes like crudo or salmon tartare.

Caught using low impact gillnet gear in the Upper Cook Inlet, Upper Lynn Canal, and Bristol Bay, Alaska.
